זהו תקציר של הרצאה שניתנה ע"י ד"ר ונדר בכנס בין לאומי  חשוב  ה- ESCRS  הכנס  של האגוד האירופאי לניתחי ם להסרת משקפיים וניתוחי קטראקט, שנערך בלונדון בספטמבר 2006.

ההרצאה מתארת 4 מקרים בהם נדרש טפול בשיטת ה  Topolyser כדי לתקן טפולים קודמים של  שנעשו ע"י מכשירי לייזר  מהדור הישן.

iQ  Improving Topography Assisted Ablation Results with the Wavelight T-CAT system

Purpose- Irregular corneas can be improved using the T-cat system of the Allegretto –Wavelight laser. The T-CAT system reshapes the cornea according to the information retrieved from corneal topographies. Choosing the right parameters for asphericity change, refractive error and optical zone, is critical in order to achieve satisfactory outcomes.

Methods-Four eyes, of four patients with deferent corneal irregularities will be presented.

Corneal topographies were achieved with the Wavelight Topolyzer. Data was transferred to the T-cat system of the Allegretto –Wavelight laser. Treatments were modified according to the refractive error, corneal asphericity, and optical zone.

Visual acuity, quality of vision, and corneal topographies were recorded, prior to surgery and post surgery.

Results – Preoperatively, patients had complains of unsatisfactory BCVA, of monocular double vision, and of night glare and halos.

All eyes had significant improvement in BCVA, in the quality of vision, and the corneal topographies. Complains of double vision, of night glare and halos disappeared, or were significantly decreased.

The choice of the deferent parameters for each case will be presented.

Conclusion – The Allegretto T- cat is a powerful system to treat patients with reduced vision, due to irregular astigmatism of deferent etiologies. In order to achieve satisfactory results for the patient, many parameters should be taken into consideration and integrated, before data from the Topolyser is transformed into an ablation treatment.
